Yin yoga is a relaxation practice. This is for anyone looking for some mental stillness, a peak into their inner emotional landscapes, a way to connect your body reactions with your breath, as well as a way to listen to the softness of the divine within and around you. About Sabrina: Yoga has been apart of who I am since I was young. The movement, the stillness, the ability to sit quietly and sift though what is going on internally. Space to collect my thoughts and space to breathe. My friend Aly used to come visit me at Nutters and we would get into discussions about health, nutrition and when she expressed to me she was having a teacher training in Olds I didn't hesitate. I have been studying Shamanism and energy work for some years and I was searching for a way to connect that Energetic realm to my emotional and physical body and that what yoga has helped me with! It was another organization tool for moving and knowing myself. My practice has changed a lot over the years, from ashtanga, to meditation, to chanting, and now rests in the practice of Yin yoga. A slow relaxation practice where we hold seated and reclined poses for a longer amount of time. This practice helps us meet our edges mentally, emotionally, physically,(in a Yin manner) as well as our Spiritual edges. Working with the Yamas and Niyamas (yoga ethics) has been a year of working through deeper layers of yoga philosophy and has helped me to know myself that much better. Another tool to navigate my inner experiences and how they effect the world around me. Yoga is a passion that keeps me grounded and connected to everything around me. And I am delighted to share that part of myself with the world.
