Service Description

Hi I'm Sabrina, I'm looking forward to coming back to OTS for a pop-up yin class. I have been exploring a mix of yoga and herbalism & indigenous shamanism. This class is part of my Blossom yoga series where we get to know and embody the plant people, familiarizing ourselves with their nature, their essence, learning their voices from within. We will move our bodies into shapes that represent the energy of these plants, how they work on immune system, energetic body, symbolic story, their gifts, and how they call for our aid. Through this slow dive into our own imagination we can build familiarity and a tangible relationship with the earth, letting her inform us, our movements, thoughts, and breath. This can also help prepare our bodies, backs, hips, spines, and hearts for gardening, planting, foraging, and being stewards for the ground below us and to help us consciously recognize the connection between us and the plants. It's the first step in answering Mother Earths call for healing I’ve been sharing my love for yoga for the past nine years, building on over 25 years of personal practice. As a certified RYT 500 instructor, I’ve also undergone specialized training in trauma sensitivity through Canmore Counseling. My true passion is in yin yoga, where I explore the intricacies of the mind, emphasizing comfort, breath, and the empowerment of choice in our practice. In addition to my yoga journey, I have a deep connection to Peruvian Shamanism, having graduated from Kimmapii School of Shamanism in 2009. This experience has enriched my understanding of energetic medicine and healing practices, guiding me toward a natural balance in life. The teachings of the medicine wheel have profoundly shaped my perspective and approach to the world around me. I also completed the Practical Herbalist course at Wildrose College of Herbal Medicine. Currently, I reside in the serene Johnsons Landing, BC, where I embrace the beauty of nature and its ever-changing seasons. In my free time, I love playing the piano, canoeing, berry picking, creating art, and taking long walks in the forest.
